Ena Guntrip's Birthplace


The White Horse public house stood at the corner of Midland Road (left) & Harpur Street, until it was demolished in 1929, shortly after this photo was taken, to be replaced by Marks and Spencer, which was later extended over the site of Murdoch's (left). The licence was transferred to the White Horse in Newnham Avenue.
